German
Ford Maultier half-track caterpillar, equipped with a 2 cm anti-aircraft
flak gun. Ford Werke AG produced more than 10,000 of these vehicles on
special order from the Wehrmacht in 1943. In all, Ford Werke and the General
Motors subsidiary Adam Opel AG accounted for about two-thirds of all new
3-ton trucks supplied to the Wehrmacht during the war - a vital contribution
to the mobility of the German forces during the Blitzkrieg.
